Fuel Pressure Issue

I have a 2016 Ford Fusion, which I bought in 2017. For a while now, I can’t drive in heavy traffic or as soon as I turn off the car, it will not turn back on at least for the next 40 minutes. It’s at$120k miles now & it started the issue ashen it reached about 70k miles (at least that’s when it became a noticeable problem). I took it to Ford & they said it was the fuel pressure sensor, which I replaced & did not fix the issue. When O plug in the scanner I get the code P88 & P87 (I think). Basically, it tells me the fuel pressure is too high & the fuel pressure is too low. I’ve taken the car back to the Ford dealer, but since the check engine light is not on, they said there are no codes, but I still get the same codes.  I appreciate any suggestions.

Did you get the OEM Motorcraft part for what you replaced?

Don't buy that the dealer can't find a code without a check engine light. They don't want to look at it, or don't care. My 2017 Mustang had an intermittent P1450 code and the light went out while taking it to the dealership to figure out. They charged me $150 to drive my car for an hour and say that exact same thing. I found the code with a $150 scan tool a month later (light was still off).

Almost all codes are stored until someone deletes them with a scan tool. Scotty mentions that all the time when he's scanning cars.

Check your fuel filter, it may be intermittently clogging up.  And never let it get much below 1/4 tank of fuel.
