I've been trying to buy a new axel for my 1970 Honda Civic CVCC because I new a new boot but realized that changing the axel is best. I tried looking up the model through the library manual book but the library unfortunately the library did not have the manual unless you highly recommend I do. The car has a 95' engine in it now and that's how I bought it a year ago.

Thanks for your time

I don't think you're searching for the correct year - should be 72-79 (though  the person who put in the engine could have put in 93 parts to the rest of the driveline)

Looks to me that a number of years/versions are available -get your VIN number and the people at a good parts store should be able to help you. Oh, and what you spend on a manual? Will save you money, maybe a lot.

Thank you both for your help, @glen_stet....The car VIN does not come up with anything and the registration is clearly wrong since it says it's a 1970. I have been looking at pictures from 1972-1980 to see which one matches mine, do you have any suggestions to find out, I've been looking at the hood, and the front brackets between the head lights. What else can I do to find out the year model?

This far, I think it's a 1995 with how I've been comparing, am I missing anything?

In 1970 Honda was selling the "600", a sub-subcompact with a 2-cylinder 600cc engine. The larger Civic debuted in 1972 and CVCC engine in 1975. So what you actually have there needs to be nailed down a bit better in order to source the correct parts.

If it's a 1995 engine in a 1970s body that car has been seriously Frankensteined. If that's the case it can be a real challenge to figure out what axles you have.

The 1970s vintage setup would have had a carburetor and essentially no electronics. A 1995 engine will have fuel injection, sensors, and computerized controls. Maybe you can post photos of the car and engine. (Upload to a file sharing site and post the links here.)
