Hello Scotty, Is there a roadside detector device that I can use without having to use my cell phone wi-fi linked to it to give me speed alerts when going over the speed limit?

Yes, it's called your eyes.

@chucktobias There are times when I am driving where there are no speed limit signs therefore that's why I asked the question is there a device that is out there to use as a back up. SMARTY @chucktobias.

@bb-h That's rare and at least some states have default speed limits if there are none posted. One's eyes and brain are the best "device". I also note that the title of your question asks about a "road sign recognition" device.

No posted speed limit signs are very few and far between. We have a single road called Drake Rd. It's a country road that is redundant and nobody really uses it. It's basically "forgotten about". There's no posted speed limit sign. A country road with no traffic, I can do 55 MPH on, it's as it's reasonable for country driving. If, for whatever reason a cop pulls me over, there are no speed limit signs, so I go as fast as I think is reasonable. I would plead my case for that. There's three miles' worth of fields and a couple houses. That's it.
