Don't know if you heard of this tip for rodents eating wires. Honda makes a Harness wrap called "Rodent Tape" part # 4019-2317. Tape is impregnated with Hot Pepper oil so when they take a first bite they supposedly stop. Just checked an OEM supplier and it can be ordered. About $40/roll. Move on ya little Bastards!
Way cool. Honda must have known this would happen. They probably lubricate their wiring looms with EVOO for installation. HA!
I've read that many auto manufacturers are using environmentally friendly soy based wire insulation and the machinery involved is lubricated with vegetable or peanut oil. Our wiring harnesses are being made out of mouse food! The manufacturers know it's a problem but pretend it isn't. No big surprise there. $40 for a roll of friction tape soaked in pepper juice. Really? It just keeps getting better and better.
I have to wonder if wire insulation can just be made from peppers instead of soy beans and rinsed clean before use? 💡
But they still have problems with rodents damaging their engines. Is it that they sell this but don't use it themselves?!

Good to know. Thank you.
