Hi,Scotty,have you ever worked on a car with rotary engine, such as a Mazda RX7 or RX8? What do you think of it?
Not sure what Scotty thinks. I think Rotary Engines are amazing. So much power in such a tiny little thing.
at the same time, one of the things that wears out are apex seals. And it also has a tendency to burn oil.
Clever little engine though.
Indeed amazing, very clever design, but the drawbacks are clear. Hope Mazda can bring it back someday.
You wouldn't want to use one as a daily driver but as a toy they can be excellent.
Terrible reliability, great at making power.....for a short time.
I would never own one.
Fun toys. You can pick up RX8’s that look amazing for 1000-1500 all day long. Between 90-110k motor is shot. And Mazda doesn’t rebuild these. Most places don’t. The fix, drop in a new motor.
