How long do brake rotors usually last?

mr kilmer        2014 camry   just change  brake pad  in  89k miles ago        now   117k miles.     how long can toyota brake rotor last?  200k miles or  forever     when i look at the picture  it scare mee.

i live in nj     thx


Is that your rotors at 89,000 miles?

Rotors are not very expensive for most cars so I just change them along with the pads.


Very true, on the average car. VW abd BMW’s get em turned. 🤣

Depends on how hard you brake, if they have been down metal to metal etc.... A couple auto supply places will check and turn your rotors for 15-20 bucks each, they check them for cracks, measure the thickness see if it’s in spec or not. I hope that pic isn’t yours. If you have recently done pads or plan to take them and have them checked and turned.

 actually, a new rotoe at Advance auto is from $45 to $65. The pads run another $25 or so.

Rock auto has TWO rotors AND the pads for around $65.

So yes, replace the rotors when you do the pads and don't worry about it. 🙂
