The topic you posted this to was made nearly 4 years ago and "Alex" has not been active here since that time so is very unlikely to see or respond to your inquiry.

For future reference please do not "hijack" someone else's old topic to ask your car question. Instead, post your own topic giving all pertinent information about your vehicle and a clear, concise description of your car issue as requested in the posting instructions located near the top of the main page. It would also be helpful if you let us know what troubleshooting steps have been taken so far.

Your post has been split off into its own topic. Please provide the necessary information as a response to this topic - do not post a new one. Thank you.

Hello everyone,
I’m looking for some advice regarding my 2008 Volvo XC70 D5 136kw D5244T4 . It’s a great car, but I’ve been struggling with a strange issue lately.

After about 10 minutes of idling, the engine starts to shake and runs very roughly. Interestingly, when I turn on the AC, the idle smooths out a bit. Also, if I disconnect the fuel pressure sensor, the engine runs smoothly again, but obviously it switches to a safe mode without the sensor.

I have already replaced injectors, pressure valves, fuel trim, EGR valve, throttle body, pressure sensor connector, and even cloned the ECU.

I also updated the software in the Volvo ECU, and the car ran perfectly for about three months after that — but then the problem returned.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Well I've seen many things cause that but I would have to see it in person and put my fancy autel scan tool on it. If you're anywhere near Clarksville, Tennessee, I check them out free. It could be anything from a failing computer circuit to a wiring problem or even a worn out engine

Hello everyone,

It appears you missed the request "Please provide the necessary information as a response to this topic - do not post a new one" that was asked of you in your original post about this car problem. The topics have been merged.

For future reference please take note of the forum rules posted near the top of the main page which, among a few other things, prohibit posting multiple topics about the same car problem.

As far as the rough idle issue if you have not done so already you should perform a full diagnostic scan and check for vacuum leaks in those 17-year-old hoses as well as the intake gasket. As Scotty says though if it's not something relatively simple it's probably going to take expert hands-on troubleshooting. Those cars have very complex electronic control systems.
