There is this guy private seller selling this 2014 chevy impala metallic blue LT trim with 40k miles on it for $9k. It's got a spot in the windshield that he said got it fixed so it wouldn't grow in the windshield and there is a corner piece bottom left side of passenger door that a lil paint chipped off and looks like tiny bit of rust. Inside the wheel wells look like it was undercoated. I test drove it and everything seemed good it's got a V6 in it and it was not loud quiet when you start it up. I looked up the car online says worth about $14k and hes selling for $9k, also its got rebuilt title because of two areas from hail damage that the dealership fixed. Only had two owners and the other two were auctions trying to sell it. It just seems kind of too good to be true. His name matched the title when i saw it just seems unreal.

A few rules to follow when buying a used car:

  • Never buy a car with a rebuilt or salvage title.
  • Never believe what a seller tells you.
  • When a car deal seems too good to be true - usually it is.

Bear in mind that those are not exactly the most reliable vehicles around:

Mileage is suspiciously low for an 11-year-old car and would need to be verified.

In the final analysis, only a thorough inspection by a good mechanic before purchase can tell you if the car is any good. If the seller won't let you do this don't just walk away, run away.
