Hi scotty i have a Alfa romeo spider 916 1997 with a TwinSpark 2.0l engine and my car idles very rough(very rich)but only after the engine heats a bit it runs ok the first 30seconds i bought a new MAF but i got the 5pin one insted of 4pin one but i did rewired it to work without tripping any faults so what could be wrong MAF, air temperatue sensor, idle control sensor because i cant figure it out.
Start with the correct MAF sensor.
I second yaser - MAFs use resistance to measure air flow, and if you don't have the EXACT specified resistance the ECU is expecting, you will get these kinds of results. Don't just get the one with the right # of pins, get the original equipment manufacturer one - Scotty's said that every time he does a video about replacing a MAF.
