Is anyone familiar with Royal Purple Engine oil? I always bring my own oil (Royal Purple) and filter when getting my oil changed. I have a 2012 Honda Civic LX with approx. 140K miles on it. I have been using Royal Purple for years. This oil has a purplish hue. When I came home after having my oil changed and I checked the oil, the color of the oil residue after wiping the dipstick on a white paper towel was tannish in color. I checked my oil in my other car that I had the oil changed a week prior and the color of the oil residue on the paper towel was purplish. I never noticed it ever being this tannish color when checking the oil in the past. It always had a purple hue. I am wondering if the mechanic really used my Royal Purple oil in my car or could the color of the oil be from something else? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
