Hi Scotty,

I wanted to ask if I should keep or trade in my car. I have a 2020 Ford Fusion 1.5 L turbo with 85,000 miles currently. No issues so far, thank God. But wanted to know if it’s worth keeping it for the long haul or transition to Toyota or Honda. Thank you very much.

Well I mean if it's running okay it might be okay in the short run. But if you're looking at 10-20 years down the line, if you can get any money for it now, I'd get rid of it and get a Toyota

Unfortunately this engine falls under the "open deck block design" which has issues with cracked blocks and water intrusion into the cylinders. If its had the engine replaced already with the new design block that doesn't crack, then they are very reliable vehicles. If it hasn't then you may want to sell it, but keep in mind because of the cracked block problems on the 1.5 ecoboost motors from 15 thru 20, your resale value will not be that great.
