RAV 4 old model 1999 , requires to0 turn ignition key more than twice. RPM hand not stable on idle and wont go up on acceleration as it used to be .sometimes the engine shuts down on idle accelaration . how to fix it?
I would start with cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body.
Could be several different things causing this behavior. Without further information hard to say. Is check engine light on? Even if it isn’t you should have it scanned and update your post with any codes it has. It could be throttle control, sensor, fuel injectors, ECM, crank sensor, cam sensor, , dying fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, clogged air filter, clogged catalytic converters etc....
if it drives fine and the gauge just won’t respond it could be just a failing gauge. Please provide more information,

and it requires several key turn to start the engine too.!
If they have an autozone near you or any other parts place that will scan your car for codes do that and post any that exist here. Check your air filter, when your car is cold see if you can hold your hand over the tail pipe before it gets hot. If you can do that easily your converter maybe clogged. Will rpms go up if you rev it in park?
Car exhaust discards Carbon and Water droplets?
i changed head gasket also.
Water droplets are normal sometimes on a cold engine, when you say discards Carbon. Are you getting black chunks or just black residue?
And when/why did you replace the head gasket?
