Hi, Scotty I have a 1985 G20 Chevy Van with 65,000 plus miles the problem I’m having is that the fuel filler neck has Rusted. I took all the fuel system down, even bought a new tank but the tank is fine. So further in my investigation I notice the hoses where dry rot so I purchase fuel hose to replace the old ones but to my surprise the straight pipe had rust through out the pipe..well thinking I could buy another straight pipe I search and search no luck most of the the Auto Parts Seller offer Rubber hose… I don’t know if I wanna go that route in fear that it may Rub a Hole in the Rubber, so I took the the straight pipe and soak it in Vinegar fora few days hoping it would loosen the rust Buildup but it did nothing ..Is there another way to save this Straight pipe or should I go Rubber
Take the rusted pipe to a metal fabrication shop, or a muffler shop and have them make you a new one. Muffler shops have all the tubing, bending machines and cutters to make one fairly cheaply.
Thanks ,I think I will
Thanks, It Does …I really Appreciate this a lot !!!
