I have a beloved 04 Tacoma 2 wd 2.4 liter, 5 speed. Runs great at 177k miles. Burns no oil. Frame is rusted. Should I fix or find another? Quoted repair was for $6500 a year ago. Body, interior is not perfect, but not terrible. This truck is my carry mulch, haul lawnmower for retirement income truck. I don't want a bigger fancier truck. I want this one! How much to spend to fix or replace before you consider me crazy? Thanks

was this for a whole new frame, or just a patch up job?
They had problems back then with rusted frames because they didn't properly pre-treat the steel. I don't know if you live in the rust belt or not. If you have been in tge rust belt the whole time, you might still be able to get a free frame replacement. They had recalls for them at one point. I don't know if you can still get them, or if it expired.
In this case, Toyota will give you a new frame if you do enough advocating for your vehicle.
