Hi. kindly advise is it a good idea to buy a salvage car. well I live in Kenya saw a salvage yard with lots of cars that need repairs many have been involved in an accident, well they are not selling that cheap since many of them were recently bought just to be involved in an accident kindly advise.
many have serious damages other minimal damages.
I wouldn't buy a salvage car anywhere. Save your money and save yourself from the headaches my friend.

I am not familiar with the practice with salvage cars in your country. What are price differences between salvaged and non-salvaged used cars? Are those (salvaged) cars imported?
My opinion: it depends why it was salvaged. I would have it checked for damages.

Thank you, sir. the price range is not low since banks and insurances are trying their best to recover their money by selling them high, well most cars here in Kenya are imported from Japan and other parts of Europe. most salvage companies here will indicate that the care is minimal or seriously damaged most of them having engine and body or serious suspension issues.
If so, I recommend stay away from them. Serious damages are usually subject of further break downs. And that costs money too. I see that practice as a rip off.
