Why does my 2019 Tacoma's 4 wheel drive not allow me to brake?

I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport, manual transmission, with 5270 miles.  I live in Queens, NY and this is the first winter which I have used the 4 wheel drive system.  When I engage the 4 hi system, sometimes when I attempt to brake, the truck keeps going forward then it stops. It doesn't happen all the time, I've counted 4 times when I could not stop when I wanted to.  This does not happen when it is in 2 wheel drive.  The instances when I could not stop, I would press the brake and clutch, and I could feel the truck stop and go, never coming to a complete stop.  This does not happen when I place it into neutral before I press the brake.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.  TY

If it’s still under factory warranty, take it back to the dealer & have them fix it.

Consider making a video (if at all possible) when the behaviour occurs, to further strengthen your case.

Thanks, making an appointment today.

No worries, please keep us updated as to what fixed it.
