[Solved] Same cars, different feeling

Hi Scotty, I had a Honda Pilot 2010 and now I got a newer one 2014- (same engine and transmission). The drive feeling is not the same as my old one. It shifts differently.. I mean it’s nothing wrong with the car . Does it have anything to do with the way the previous owner drove? Thank you

Again its a later model with later improvements below the surface. Plus how previous owner treated it can also matter. If its was an inner city/pot hole abused car, sure it could ride totally different.

Thanks for your feedback

The engine and transmission may be the same, but there is definitely going to be software updates/improvements on the ECU and TCU for the newer model year.

Thanks buddy 👍

Some transmissions have more than one mode - Sport, Economy, etc. Check your owners manual on this, as they make the transmission shift points very different.

Thanks for your feedback.

Maybe they "improved" it during one of the facelifts between 2010 and 2014. There seems to be a bump in mpg as well, or at least according to the EPA.

Thanks
