Good Day,
I am having a hard time finding a cheap scan tool to use on my 2003 Nissan X trail GT. Could you suggest any good compatible scan tools?
Thank you.
Clarification: There is no Nissan Xtrail in the US or Canada; which region are you in? And what is your budget (in US dollars)?
I am from the Caribbean but my SUV was made in Japan. My Budget is 60US.
Because you are in the Caribbean and you have a non-North American car model, I suggest you contact the top 3 (IMO) scan tool companies for DIYers such as Autel, Innova, and Bluedriver and ask them 1.) Do they make a scan tool supported in your region, and if so which ones?; and 2.) Is my vehicle supported? Then buy from an authorized dealer (although in Innova and Bluedriver’s case you can buy direct). This way you will have warranty, service, product support, and software updates in the future if you need it, and if you buy from an authorized source you won’t get scammed (Amazon is not always an authorized source of these scan tool companies, you have to check on the manufacturer’s website.)
Ok thanks you. I will do that.
What's your price range and what do you want to do with the scan tool?
I want to be able to read codes, erase codes, read live data but most importantly read check engine light codes. My Budget is 60US.
Thank you. I will check it out
I suggest ponying up another $40 for a Bluedriver. It'll be worth it.
I tried the bluedriver but it does not work on my SUV.
When you say the BlueDriver didn’t work with your vehicle, do you mean it didn’t read your VIN automatically, or did it not even read any codes, live data, etc?
The bluedriver would disconnect while trying to read the SUV and would not respond when trying to reconnect to it. I followed the instructions on how to use exactly but it would do that everytime. It works perfectly fine on a Audi and a Honda vehicle that I tried it on so I know the device is not defective.
Gotcha.
Did the launch one work?
