I believe my vehicle is in limp mode and this issue has been happening for the past week. On flat road, the vehicle is having acceleration power issue when the gas pedal is pressed down and can't passed 20mph. Similarly, the vehicle also having a hard time going uphill as well as there is no power when the gas pedal is pressed down.
I google online and some people mentioned that vehicle is in "limp mode" which at the time of the issue occurred I wasn't aware of it. Some people claimed the main caused of this issue could be "Transmission Control Unit" TCU but I am not sure.
So my question is what may be the issue that is causing the vehicle entering in "limp mode?"
Thanks for you help!
Hi, thanks for your response. I haven't check it yet. Is there a way to check if the catalytic converter is clogged up? I don't have any engine light pops up.
The lack of a check engine light is irrelevant. Have you performed a diagnostic scan for codes and live data? The most direct way to check for a clogged catalytic converter is with a back-pressure gauge.
Also you need to differentiate between the engine bogging down or the engine running normally but the transmission slipping. Obviously if the problem is the latter nothing you do with the engine is going to help.
I will try to drop the car at a local auto chain store to see if they put the reader on to check any possible codes?
If you don't have a scan tool most auto parts stores will check codes for free. However, checking for codes is just the beginning of the diagnostic process. It's also necessary to analyze live data for problems and a parts store is not likely to do that for you.
Stay away from chain shops and dealers when selecting a mechanic.
post your odometer please. It's in the instructions. Thanks.
If no malfunction lights are on then your Caravan is not in limp mode. Still run a scan though.

Have you checked to see if your catalytic converter is clogged?

Here is an update to the original post.
I took my vehicle to a local auto shop that specializes in Dodge vehicle repairs to perform an initial diagnosis to narrow down the car issue.
Below is what they found but the replacement of the MAP did not fixed the original vehicle issue. There is still no power or acceleration when press down the gas pedal.
Right now, I am trying to figure out exactly what is wrong because I am tired and want to avoid bring the vehicle to auto shop only to find out they can't fix it after the repair is done.
If anyone has any experience in Dodge vehicle issue, I will greatly appreciate any feedbacks!
