My 2001 Toyota Sequoia developed a strange VSC/TRAC issue after front-end work.

The front ball joint, wheel bearing, and strut were replaced. Since then, when accelerating from a dead stop, at approximately 0–4 mph, the slip/stability-control light flashes and the system cuts power/intervenes for a few seconds. Once I get past that very low-speed range, the truck drives normally.
The mechanic has observed on live scan data that the left-front wheel-speed sensor signal momentarily drops out at very low speed. This is the same side where the front-end work was performed. At normal driving speeds, the wheel-speed signals appear normal.
So far they have tried:
- Replacing the left-front knuckle
- Replacing the tone/reluctor ring
- Replacing the strut twice
- Replacing the left-front wheel-speed sensor and its wiring
- Rechecking the bearing installation
- Checking alignment/calibration
The problem is still present.
If the ABS/traction-control system is disconnected, the unwanted intervention stops, although obviously ABS/TRAC/VSC are then disabled.
Has anyone experienced a wheel-speed signal dropout only around 0–4 mph on a first-generation Sequoia/Tundra, especially after front wheel-bearing or suspension work?
I’m particularly interested in what could cause the left-front speed signal to disappear momentarily at very low speed despite replacing the sensor, tone ring, knuckle, bearing-related components, and wiring.
