2002 Manual Transmission Toyota Camry V6 1MZ-FE, 330190km.

My check engine light came on. yellow. I check the fault code P0330.

P0330

Circuit Of Knock Sensor 2 - Bank 2.

I recently bought this car and filled it up with Ron 91 rating petrol in Australia.

How do I check for certain the car hasn't gone and is staying in LIMP mode?

I read the 1mz-fe has oversensitive knock sensors.

Possibly, but where did you read that?

I can't view that link you provided.

If you do an internet search for that code you'll find plenty of information about it on other sites, for example:

I hope it's safe to clear the code.

It's safe to clear the code but that will not fix the underlying problem.

Is it running abnormally? Normally one would notice if in limp mode. You need to troubleshoot the possible causes for that code. (That thing is so old and with high mileage it would be no surprise to find a wiring problem or almost anything else.)

YSensor replacement can be expensive but it's best to replace them (with OEM sensors). Can't recommend any of the hacks perpetuated on YouTube because splicing and other 'tricks' omit the reason the sensor is there, to protect your engine.

So when i start the car, the check engine light is not there, but where driving it comes on and off?

A flashing CEL means a problem exists that requires immediate attention. A check engine light that stays illuminated means you have an issue that needs to be addressed soon.

If you have a CEL flashing that's a warning driving the vehicle further risks severe damage to the vehicle.

@hixster not flashing. just stay off then on.. then disappears. no flashing.

I can't view that link you provided. I plan to use Ron 98 petrol fuel next time.

I hope it's safe to clear the code. I can't tell if it's in LIMP Mode. thankyou for your time.
