Apologies if this has already been covered. First time here, going right to my question. Do you know anything about the P1326 code on a 2015 Kia Soul? I’ve driven over 12k miles in Limp Mode from Maine back across the country to Oregon.
i had already gotten it reset in NC by a very nice Vet running his own independent mechanic’s shop. He had the expensive diagnostic computer and reset it for free🙏🏼, there were no other codes 🙏🏼 My OBDII scanner won’t reset that code. I drove it it to New England, at a thousand miles NE of NC, the light started blinking again as it went into limp mode for the second time in less than 3,000 miles
i chose to take the bet and gamble on driving it until the engine died and deal with it then. I really didn’t have a choice, I didn’t have any extra money at the time to get it checked it out.
So, one more question, should I try replacing the knock sensor myself before I take it to a Kia dealer and hope they can help me without charge?
thank you!!
- I love, love, love, watching your videos Scotty, they’ve helped me so much!🙏🏼
Especially if the check engine light was blinking, driving that thing in that condition was the wrong thing to do. The blinking light means you should stop driving immediately to avoid damage.
Is your oil level OK? Although if you're lucky you may have a problem with the sensor itself, on Hyundai and Kia vehicles that code frequently means the engine is shot due to excessive internal wear. (Serious engine problems are common with Kias.)

You can check for TSBs at this site in the event any are relevant:

Recalls can be found here:
Rather than just throwing a new knock sensor at the problem it would be better to test the existing one first:

Also, if you search youtube you'll find videos there on testing knock sensors.
@chucktobias especially with cars that are known for spontaneously combusting and immolating their occupants
Please post your odometer per the instructions. It would also help to which engine it has. Thanks.
I didn’t have any extra money at the timeIt may be covered by. warranty so call them up.
The car needs to be tested by a Kia/Hyundai for a possible engine replacement.
