Hi Scotty it's strange but like many here it feels like I know you. You're busy and I'll be direct.
2009 GMC Sierra 1500sle 5.3l Flex(VIN "O")117,000 ODO(I wanted a Toyota but this was within my price range)
Within a week brought it to a shop just to get it routinely maintained. While at the shop the driver side bumper was pealed forward by a guys trailer, popping the tire.
It seemed minor but I had it towed somewhere else because the original guy was MIA. So the new shop charged me over 200$ for a 17mi tow. Then claimed the wheel bearing on that side was shot as well as the tierod end. Then the mechanic snapped a caliper bolt and he replaced both without me even knowing. At the same time he said that the wheel bearing had to be replaced too.
I need help it was 2200$ out of pocket. Should I nail this guy to the wall? Hope this helps others here too.
Thanks SK
LW

Maybe try going to a different mechanic, explaining the situation, show him the bill, and get a second opinion.
Solid advice. Not sure why I can't upload the bill, I've tried over and over. There are so many crooked mechanics around. It really gives the whole industry a bad name, not to mention my wallet hurts
I was able to upload the bill but would it be easier for me to retype it here? It would be great if someone could take a look and help me out on this. It was around 5000 total.
@luke-wilson If you're worried about your personal info being revealed, you can use Paint or a similar program to scribble it out. Otherwise you can use small objects to hide it before you take a picture, or you can just take a picture of the itemized work order part of the document.
copy+paste the internet address where you uploaded it
I'm a little unclear on the situation.
A bolt is a matter of a few bucks. Not worth the fuss.
What was the other thing he replaced? Tie-rod end? Ask him to show you the worn out old part.
The $2200 includes the bumper and tire work, right?
Thanks for reaching out.
The driver side caliper bolt was snapped by the mechanic because "the last mechanic didn't' use grease". So both calipers were replaced because "you can't do just one side"
It kind of makes sense but somethings says in me it doesn't seem right and I didn't even know until after the job was done.

sounds like hooey. You don't grease mounting bolts, and you don't need to change both sides.
Do you have a photo of the bill? (with personal stuff covered)
Great Video!! It really looks easy for him to do..
I have a photo of the bill yes. Not sure how to post it here. Is there an email I could FWD to?
upload it to postimages.org and the paste the link here
Is there a secondary option? it's not letting me upload.
And no it did not include the bumper work.

try imgur.com or imgbb.com
This is truly strange. it is not allowing me to up load to either site. I have been trying.
I did drag to the post on IMGUR but nothing happened.
Thank you for even the response,
@luke-wilson Are you using a computer, phone, or tablet?
Sorry just saw this I guess I was logged out automatically. Yes, I am using a computer.
Added screenshot to your opening post.
OK thank you
That's a lot of stuff he did. I have no way of knowing if your truck needed it or not. He should have contacted you about the additional items.
Don't you have hit & run coverage on your insurance?
I do yes but the person who hit me let me know and it all went through his insurance. He was driving a trailer and popped the tire and pealed the front bumper forward about 4inches. It looked pretty minor really. The part prices seem high don't they?
