Sealed 4WD Trans/transfer case

Hello Scotty! Thanks for all the great vids!

I have a 2005 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition 4WD V8. It has a sealed, full time, dual range 4 wheel drive system. My question is, do these sealed transmissions require fluid and filter changes and if so, how often. The car has over 100k on it but still runs like a Swiss watch. I’ve been given conflicting info and would really appreciate your advice.

No such thing as sealed. If fluid can go in, it can come out. No such thing as 'lifetime fluid'

(Scotty can be heard saying this ad infinitum)

If you ask me, you're already overdue for transmission and driveline maintenance.

All those fluids should be changed if you want those components to last.

(transmission, front axle, transfer case, rear axle). Forget the dealership. Go to a trustworthy independent mechanic who isn't going to try and get you into a new vehicle.

Don't forget coolant and all the other stuff too.
