07 Lexus es350 bought it used with 165,000 miles 2 months ago, a month in I had 2 cylinder misfires and it’s only getting worse.
I bought an 07 Lexus ES 350 2 months ago test drove it and it was great had no lights on or anything about a week later I had a check engine light traction control light and it said vehicle stability control failing but it drove fine the springs were cut so I’m putting in coilovers, a couple weeks later cylinders 2 and 4 were misfiring I did spark plugs and coil packs and it still feels like it’s misfiring but all my lights went out, a week after (currently) all the lights came back on I scanned it and I’m getting a p0420 code that says catalyst pressure below threshold, bank 1 and 2. I just have no clue what to do with it I don’t wanna sink a ton of money into it I got it for 6,500.
With that age and mileage, the cat should work fine, unless you have issues with the engine which apparently, you do. You should fix the misfire issue first before anything else. Have a mechanic check it to find why it has misfires.
