Scotty and Car Killer Team,
Could use some help (diagram or video) locating the tensioner bolt to loosen the belt on my '09 Matrix 2.4L. I am replacing the alternator but just can't seem to find info. on the process for this specific model and engine. No luck on youtube. Silly to ask but I don't want to muck anything else up in the process. I have my 19mm and wrench...hoping someone might know and have a good visual. Thanks as always!!
Some tensioners don’t have a nut, but a square hole you can plug a breaker bar into. But yours does have a nut, in the middle of the pulley, and the pry point just to the right that looks like a nut. Here’s what you are looking for....

No problem, glad I could help. Before the internet, I learned a lot by just doing stuff, learned by trial n error. Now with car forums, Youtube videos, and other car repair info on the internet there's nothing I won't do/try myself. Unless I need a car lift or some super specialized tool/equipment.
