Found this used (old) car, with a great service record, shall I buy it?

Any advice much appreciated ! 😍
The low cost and the phony mileage for a 20 year old car that costs a fortune to repair is just the beginning of the sad story. If it's from a dealer, it's even worse.
If you have a boatload of cash, yes. If not, no.
oh no really? naw i have limited means. thought it be a good option as has a great service history and comes at a low cost... : (
right, what do you mean by phoney mileage?
Suspiciously low mileage for a 20-year-old car.
57K miles on a 20 year old car is about as real as our secure border.
oh no, the mileage has been doctored. didn't realise that was possible to do in this day and age... bum 😕
Alright, hypothetical scenario- if the mileage was genuinely 57K would the car be a good deal?
@katehll - No.

A 20-year-old Mercedes is going to need a lot of ongoing maintenance and repairs. I don't know what the costs would be in the UK, but here in the U.S. you'd wind up spending a small fortune. Whether it is a good deal depends on whether you like the car enough to spend the money that's going to be required to keep it going.
yeah, know what you mean. was hoping this car would not need many repairs...
Any 20-year-old car is going to need a lot of repairs though some of course will be worse than others.
yes, perhaps im hoping for something that does not exist...
Why the down vote @katehll? We're just trying to help you out.
my apologies, it was a mistake !
@doc maybe you should just drop the whole vote thing. NOBODY seems to catch on to what the arrows do. (understandably so)
@mmj - apparently correct. 10-4
