I've heard shells gas has better detergents to clean the engine but that bp gas get better gas milage . Or does it not matter ?
Where I am we don't have BP. However I can't see why BP would be any different than Shell if they are both Top Tier. I heard that Costco is also Top Tier but where I am we don't have any Costco gas stations. I personally use She'll myself, and the sole reason for that is the fact that where I am Shell is the only one who is using TopTier gasoline. Initially Irving did too (a long time ago) but apparently they don't anymore.
See below: On which gas to use, I just stick with Top Tier gas, and of those I get the one that is cheaper (so Arco near me).

I only use Shell fuels for business and personal vehicles. High quality detergents and proven to keep the engine nice and clean. 🙂
I don't think any of the information is correct.
Depends on the engine. If you have an engine with with direct injection, I would personally like more detergents, like a shell gas. Also matters with premium vs regular gas. Though modern cars use computers to adjust the range/setting with the type of gas you use. If you have car that recommends vs need to use a specific gas, I would go recommend or higher in terms of octane because going lower can shorten life significantly in the long term. I believe you are misinformed though as milage is more or less average per gallon or liter no matter the gas company.
Shell claims that their "Super" grade of gas with their proprietary ingredient "platformate" delivers better gas mileage.

Well I have a 2010 toyota corolla. But I guess top tier gas period is better no matter between which
I don't know about the mileage claim....I've tried Shell a few times in my different vehicles and they have worse gas mileage with Shell and I don't change my driving habits any. Have Citgo (top tier) and get the best mileage with that gas, but it's what I started out my vehicles with so maybe that's why they like it over Shell.
BP cleans your engine about as well as it cleaned up the gulf of mexico in 2010
