Shiftable automatic- manual mode

hello, i have a 2012 mazda 3 skyactiv. it has a shiftable automatic transmission, and i like to drive in the manual mode because i find it more fun when commuting to work and such. my family tells me im gonna kill my transmission driving like that, but it has safeguards in place; the computer doesn’t let me rev too high, it won’t downshift if it’ll overrev the engine, and it downshifts for me if i let the revs get too low.

mostly here to ask people that know more about cars than me or my family if this would actually break my transmission. car has 117k miles and is driven about an hour everyday.

It won't hurt the transmission. The car was designed with manual shifting as a driving option. The transmission's shifts are still electronically controlled by the car's software to prevent damage.

@hixster thank you for the answer! i thought i would be right about it, i dont think mazda would give you the option to shift manually if it caused damage.
