I got a 1993 b2200 manual, I got it for free with 243k km (150k mi) from a lady who I knew who didn't need it anymore.
I changed my manual transmission fluid, and it was really dirty. Now 1st to 2nd gear has a a bit of trouble getting in gear when it's ice cold, but it's better when it's warmed up. 2nd to 3rd is also a little clunky sometimes. Is this the synchro's or perhaps the transmission itself wearing out...? Thank you.
Try to add more clutch pedal travel through the master cylinder. When the friction disc wears, it often requires more travel to shift. Try bleeding and replacing the clutch fluid, try different transmission fluid if nothing changes.
Okay, I'll see and try both those things. Thank you. Yeah I just used conventional 80w-90 which is called for, but maybe I should try a synthetic 75w-90 or something which will flow better.
I adjusted it and it's shifting a lot more smoothly now!!! 🙂 Thanks.
It could be the clutch is not quite releasing fully. Did you use the gear oil specified by the manufacturer?
Yep, GL-5 80w-90, but I'll see about adjusting the clutch like someone else mentioned..
Thank you, I adjusted the clutch master and it seems to work good now.
I doubt that's from changing the oil.
No, but it shifted much better before I changed the oil.
