Will you make a tutorial video on valve adjustment for Hondas?

Hello from New Orleans! Thank you for all of your videos. My friends and I have enjoyed them and I've already saved plenty of money on car expenses thanks to the information I've learned on your channel. No prior car experience, but now my friends come to me with questions!

On to the question, would you be willing to make a video on how to perform a valve adjustment on Honda vehicles? I have a 2009 Honda Accord and I've never gotten a valve adjustment. I'm nearing 200,000 miles (she still runs like a clock), so I think it's time to do the job. The dealership quoted me $400 to get the job done. From what I've found on YouTube, it doesn't seem like it's too complicated of a task. I would just appreciate the Scotty format of tutorial before I do the most intrusive car job I've ever done! Thanks again, Scotty

There are already plenty of videos on youtube and elsewhere about how to do this job.

he knows. He said "I would just appreciate the Scotty format of tutorial "

I much prefer the Scotty format too.

I guess he means by the "Scotty Format" a lot of hand waving?

yup, and clickbait titles.

Absolutely.

Scotty did a video on how to adjust valves, though it was on an old Toyota engine with mechanical adjusters. Honda procedure should be similar.

I have been working on cars all my life and have done the valve adjustments on both my wifes 2010 CRV and my 2006 Element. Both had over 150k when I first did them. The videos out there already are great. Make sure you have the pre-bent angle shim gage as the straight shims make it too difficult to insert between the rocker and the valve stem, especially the rear exhaust valves. I guarentee you will find the exhaust valve clearance TIGHT, as low as .007 to .008, should be .012 if I remember. The front intakes were still almost in range. Shows valve seats are wearing on the exhaust and while it may sound a little bit noisier when your done it will probably run better overall. Both mine did as it can affect valve timing slightly.

Just a last FYI, if your not really STRONG on mechanic repairs and feel, you may want to have a pro do it. Thats why I mention my experience.
