Short drop and raise on 2011 Ford Mustang

Have a 2011 Ford Mustang manual v6 with about 71,000 miles. The short drop and raise on the windows when opening and closing the doors is inoperable. ~Door ajar sensor on passenger side latch doesn’t work.~ Passenger side window will at least raise fully (so I can lower and raise the window from the inside when the door is opened and closed by a passenger), but the driver’s side window will only raise to about 1/4” away from a fully flush seal. The normal “lower/raise with switch and continue to hold for 2+ secs to recalibrate” doesn’t work. Unplugging battery while using switch to lower windows WILL wipe memory and trigger a state which will allow a recalibrate. During this recalibrate, the driver’s window ~will~ fully raise. But beyond the initial recalibrate, it merely continues to stop 1/4” shy of a seal. Recalibrate never triggers either of the door windows to resume lower 1/4” upon opening, and to raise the windows to a full seal upon closing.

I removed the driver door panel and cleaned all connectors with compressed air and contact cleaner. No help.

Could a bad passenger door ajar sensor in the latch cause both doors to act in this way, or should I be looking towards the BCM under the passenger side dash?

If it’s the BCM, would taking it to a decent mechanic (I’m in Memphis) be the best route, or since it’s a BCM issue involving monitoring signals back and forth from the BCM to the window and the latch sensor would a body shop or tuning service be the way to go? I trust my mechs with mechanicals - not sure if they are as familiar with the electricals. I know a 2011 is past the point which the dealerships will touch it.

Thank you. 👍🏼👍🏼

For my experience, that's usually the motor assembly wearing out and not allowing it to go the whole way up. Their sensors built into it and those often go bad

@scottykilmer Replaced the regulator and motor and the window still isn’t raising all the way. Am I going to damage the window if I raise the regulator height adjustment screws significantly? Replace upper body rubber at window’s top? Start looking at the BCU? BCU is kinda intimidating sounding.

Neither passenger or driver door windows enact the short drop upon opening. The driver door window won’t raise to a seal. On Scotty’s advice, I replaced the regulator and motor. It continues to stop about 1/4” from sealing. Could it be that I should raise the front and back height screws on the regulator? Replace the window rubber on the off chance it’s jamming the glass? Or am I looking at needing to deal with the BCM? Ick.
