I took my 2009 Toyota Corolla with 155k miles to get my exhaust leak fixed and they said it was on the catalytic converter. I am going to make another appointment to get the exhaust dropped and see if it is fixable or not. It it is not fixable should I spend the 1000 dollars on a new cat, find one in a junkyard, or leave it until it breaks?

Just take it to any muffler shop and have it welded up.

You only have to fix it if you enjoy breathing.
