Should I buy this 2014 Mirage?

I need a car for daily commute to and from work because walking is not cutting it any more especially since I’m getting off at night. I can’t always secure a ride home from work. I’m currently in school and paying my way for it. So I don’t have a lot of money to spend on getting a car. Saved up to 3,000. I was wondering if this used car would be good for me because I don’t want to waste my sisters time driving an hour over their if you don’t think it’s a good deal to begin with. How much do you think I should offer if it a good car when I test drive it. What should I look out for when buying a used car from auto parts shop?

A Mirage is a poorly-made disposable car. That one can't be long for the scrapheap at that age and mileage.

Another red flag is that it's being sold by a dealer. For a dealer to be selling the car at that price they probably picked it up for a few hundred dollars at auction because no one else wanted it. Might even be a flood car or salvage title. They claim to be a "premier" dealer but that Mirage is typical bottom-feeding BHPH lot material.

You would be better off staying away from dealers and looking for something like an older Corolla or Civic, maybe cosmetically distressed but otherwise in decent shape, from a private seller.

Whatever you decide to buy be sure to have it checked out thoroughly by a good mechanic before purchase. (Once the car is yours it's too late!)

The mileage is insane.

The mirage has a terrible tiny engine with the worst CVT gearbox there is.

That car will need $3k-$5k of work at any moment - especially at over 170k miles!

If you can’t find a Corolla, Camry, Civic or Accord - Try to find a manual fiesta, they’re often inexpensive while being decent.

Don't waste your time or money on this rolling heap of doo-doo.

Forget that Mitsubishi, start looking for one of these -

The Mirage is not even a real car. Find a used Corolla or Civic. It will last you much longer and is more reliable.
