Should I buy a 2002 Lexus is300 it has 170,000 miles from a small dealer ?

There's a 2002 Lexus is300 for sale from a small dealership how good where the is300 from 2002 is it worth around 6-7k for 170,000 miles I want a reliable daily driver and I heard Lexus and Toyotas a great but the is300 just sparks something in me I want to try it out as maybe a project car / daily driver any insight or thoughts are helpful

First of all, the price is too high. If the car has been taken care of, it might worth considering with a fair price but if you can not find the maintenance records, just walk away. Also keep in mind that these cars have interference engine (if they have vvti) with timing belt too.

Never buy anything from a dealer.  You will be sorry.

Too much money for a 15 year old car with that mileage. I would only pay $3,500 to $4,000 and that's if it is in good condition with a mechanic that checks it out for me. Shop around. Try negotiating with him. Best thing to do is to have the cash in your hand and tell him i'm only paying this and if not...I'm leaving. See what happens?
