Hi Scotty. I live in Canada where insurance is mandatory. Honda and Toyota are Expensive. Should i buy a 2016 Cruze? i only need it for work and college for at least 5-6 Years
Run away
Hmm...10 years out of a bottom of the line Chevy compact.. that's asking a lot.
Have you done any research?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Cruze#Reliability_and_recalls
- Apparently it scored the lowest in reliability among all compact sedans.
- Thousands were recalls because the steering wheel was falling off while driving.
- Hundreds of thousands were recalled for risk of catching fire
- Hundreds of thousands recalled for failing brakes
- In 2014, they halted all sales of 1.4L Cruzes for failing axles.
- In 2011 carcomplaints.com rated it "Avoid like the Plague"
- It was eventually discontinued.
Shall I go on?
Yeah i know its pretty bad but what i wanna know is it so bad it wont last 4 to 5 years if i keep it maintained through college? because its still being sold by many dealerships here in canada
the problems had nothing to do with maintenance. They were crap right out of the factory. If you still want to buy it after knowing all that, then I can't help you LOL
I would not buy a Cruze in your situation. It would most likely not last the term you are desiring it to.
