Im interested in buying a 2016 Ford Expedition from a used car dealership . It has an automatic transmission V-6 w/twin turbo, 49,000 miles and they are asking 16,200 for it. Not bad right? BUT it has a rebuilt title. I have pictures of the damage (not sure how to post to this forum) and the seller claims to have documentation of the repairs. Should I proceed? What do I need to know before really considering buying?
Not on your nelly!
F.S.
Nope.
Most insurance companies won't even offer full coverage on rebuilt title vehicles.
Remember, salvage means garbage, literally. I would never own one and I do not sell them or take them on trade.
I cannot type "NO!!!!" enough times to reinforce that you should not just walk, but run away from that vehicle.
Rebuilt? On top of that a ford? Run away.
As a rule, no. The only conceivable way I would ever consider buying one is if I really REALLY trusted the seller, and even then I probably wouldn't.
I would co sign a loan for my daughter's boyfriend before I bought a vehicle with a salvage or reconstructed title. Please, SPRINT away from this deal.
