2006 mustang gt short throw shifter question

Scotty, I have a 2006 mustang gt 5speed manual. Im thinking about changing the stock shifter to a short throw shifter. What do you think about short throw shifters? What are the pros and cons? Do they really wear out the transmission synchros faster?

Its fine. Not a huge difference but because the leverage to the shifter is applied differently the syncho could wear out more quickly but so could banging gears and shifting at rev limiter. Its not like they aren't meant for abuse. Ford knows this. You likely wouldn't see a difference in reliability when it comes to something like a short throw shifter.

You won't hurt anything, but it takes some getting used to. That model Mustang had LONG shifts stock, so you would be much happier with a short throw.
