Hey Scotty, I'm Michael from the cape in Massachusetts. Should I buy an engine or trade my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe AWD? Still paying the bank for it (long story) that got over 188000 miles, still running. But there's something else when it's hot in the summer, and I turn on the ac. Sometimes it will lose its power slowly, and Then the vehicle will come to a stop, then I have to turn it off, then turn it on back again, sometimes it works another time it will take longer to start functioning again. This problem has been going on ever since I got back in late 2017 with 36000 miles on it, but only in the hot weather or extremely cold winter. This problem happens. I need your good advice. It's not clear from your description that the engine is shot, there may be some other issues, but being a Hyundai the engine might well be worn out at that mileage. In any event that vehicle is going to be a money pit. I'd get rid of it. With used cars going at a premium hopefully you can get enough out of it to at least pay off the loan.
