Should I buy it?

There's an old GMC Safari van for sale near my work. Maybe mid 90's. It looks like it's in good shape and I know the dealer selling it doesn't sell junk. These vans had a V6 and 4wd, which is good in the northwest where it rains and snows. These vans are also very popular with contractors and I see them all the time still kickin.

Are they decent vehicles? Do they have any common problems I should worry about? I think the van is around $4500.

Thanks

Too much money for the old van if it is also in a good shape.

Lemme recommend that the next time you see one... if possible... hava chat with its owner.
After speaking with 3-4 owners of 2005-2010 Toyota Avalons... I hunted one down for myself ASAP!

Then again... I've spoken with drivers of complete well-known hunks of junk... and they LUV LUV LUVED theirs.
Of course... how many people are willing to fess-up and admit they got screwed... plus tons of others wouldn't know a good ride from a whole in the groud, AIGHT?

That is WAY too much money for a 20 year old vehicle.

Agreed. Way too much money. Unless that thing is in like new condition with like 20k miles you shouldn't be paying anywhere near that much for it.

Right now the used car inventory is low. I would wait to buy something until the market is back at realistic numbers. Save your money and get something twice as good in better market conditions.
