I bought my 1989 Camaro RS as a used car. It has 48,000 original miles and is in a pristine condition. I don't know if the former owner has ever changed the transmission fluid.
Clarification: How does the fluid look currently? Any issues during shifting?
I don't know how it looks like but there is a small noise when the transmission shifts from the 1st to the 2nd gear.

Is this a 700R4 or a 4L60? Change the fluid and filter.
