Should I change my ATF

I have a 2008 Honda Civic with an automatic transmission. It has 142,274 miles. The fluid has never been changed to the best of my knowledge. Is it safe to change it now?

Use only OEM Honda fluid.

why wouldn't it be safe at 140k?
