Should I get the V6 version of the Pontiac G8?

I really don't need the V8. I just love how whole muscle car look of the G8. Don't care about the extra power, also I can't really afford the GT or GXP. Additionally, the insurance and service costs I heard are more expensive than the V6 base model. Only thing I am stuck on is the timing chain issue I saw Scotty talking about in his video about the V6 G8 he reviewed. Is it really that bad? Or is it a same percentage of V6 experiencing the timing chain issue? If anything, would it be my best bet to still get the V6 G8 but get the timing chain replaced right away for the peace of mind?

Scotty would likely tell you to "Have a mechanic check it out". Cadillac engines had similar timing chain issues in the 3.6L so if anything shows up during that pre-purchase inspection, such as noise, or something in the scan data deduct the cost, parts and labor cost, from the asking price.
