Hi Scotty,
Love your videos
I was looking for cheaper insurance and came across Allstates Milewise program which only charges mile, which will mean a much lower rate per month.
https://www.allstate.com/auto-insurance/milewise.aspx
I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 2.5 4cyl and only use is for small jobs/short trips around town.
The thing is, it requires a device to be plugged into my OBD ll port at all times. I’m pretty sure thats having a device plugged in there can mess up your onboard computer.
Should I avoid this or just find normal insurance plan?
Thanks
I don’t trust any insurance company that wants me to plug a dongle in my car in exchange for (possible) lower rate. It sounds benign at first, but it can potentially be used against you (i.e. higher rates) if a parameter indicates erratic behavior (like sudden acceleration, hard braking, etc.). I would advise against it.
Not just no, but H-E-DOUBLE-HOCKEY-STICKS no!
are you able to try it out for a month or something and see how you like it?
