Should I replace VTC actuator in my 2014 CR-V?

I to have a 2014 CRV, 75K miles, making a VTC actuator racket on cold start. Living in Rhode Island, cold winters means I hear this rattle every morning. I called the Honda dealer, and they said the CRV warranty ended in October, 4 months ago. Dealer quoted me $800 for the VTC repair. As the previous post asked, will not having the VTC actuator replaced cause any long term engine damage?  I've read that there is a redesigned VTC part Actuator, Vtc (46T) - Honda (14310-R5A-305), but it does not solve the VTC problem. What should I do? I'm not sure how much longer I can take it!!!

Are you still suffering from this issue? I apologise your question was just noticed. In future, please post a new question to get maximum help. Thanks.
