Should I take my car back to the same garage?

Hey Scotty,

I love your videos. So informative. I have an 08 Honda Civic with 186,000 miles. I just had the rear wheel bearings replaced a little over a week ago. It has been driving great but tonight when I backed out of my driveway it felt like the parking brake was still on. Got out and look and it looks like my parking brake cable is hanging down not connected. I’m going to fix this myself if that’s all that the problem is. However should I let the shop know because I’m still not sure if any other damage has been done but I’m not sure if they are liable or if I have a new problem at hand? Thanks Scotty you’re awesome!

I would definitely take it back. Disconnecting the park brake is typically a part of doing rear wheel bearings so they most likely had something to do with whatever is going on.

Most reputable shops will be glad you took it back to them and take care of whatever issues.

Definitely take it back and let them know. If they have no problem connecting it back for free, you can give them the benefit of the doubt, but if they look dumbfounded or try to sell you something else, run away and never look back.
