  • I have a 05 ford focus 5 speed with a 2.0L 4 cylinder motor in it it has 470,623 miles on it and the rings on cylinder 2 and 3 are getting weak and causing it to miss fire  should I take the chance in rebuilding the motor or should I just run it till she dies and sell it for scrap it has been a very reliable car and has lasted me a while as of right now that's the only issue I'm having with the car what should I do?

Wow, that is a lot of miles. I would not put much money into it. So if you can rebuild yourself for cheep and the transmission is solid, go for it.

Run it until it dies, that is a lot of miles for that vehicle.

Woah! Am I reading the mileage right?! That was definitely a reliable car for you. I feel like you should just continue driving it until it dies. I wouldn't put any money towards rebuilding an engine that old. The engine will be good if you rebuild it, but then other problems may arise such as electrical problems or even the transmission. That's my opinion on it. Good job to you for maintaining your car very well for that long! Good luck to you!

Throw that in a wasteland. It has done it's time. Continue to give it pride and let it die peacefully.
