Hi Scotty,
My Sienna 2008 (180K miles) transmission is about to go bad and will need replacing pretty soon. Do you suggest I buy a brand new one or a used one? If used, where do you recommend I get one and is there a way to test a used transmission? A brand new one can cost around $2500 and would rather not spend that much. Thanks!

ALWAYS buy new on transmissions. Very few places know how to rebuild a transmission correctly and you could wind up having buy a new one anyway.
If you dont want to invest the money, I'd say sell the van.
