Can I put some Sil-Glyde between the rotor, & the brake pads of my car to keep my brakes from squeaking?
If you want to die in a car crash
The friction between the pads and rotors is what stops your vehicle. Any lubricant you put on the rotors or the front of the pads will take away your stopping ability. You can apply anti-squeal to the rear of the pads where the caliper pistons push against them. You can also put some lubricant on the end of the piston. If you do your own brakes, be aware that you must clean new brake rotors with brake cleaner before installing them as they are coated with oil to prevent rust when packaged at the factory.
The only thing I would use is crc disk brake quiet. Do not put any sort of grease on the surface of your brakes unless you don't want to stop the next time you drive.
