Hey scotty, i have a 2019 honda civic lx 2.0 liter cvt. I know that you did a video recently on a 2022 honda civic lx cvt. Now my question specifically is: does the 2019 honda civic lx 2.0 liter engine have silicone sealer on it or did honda JUST start doing that specifically with their 2022 honda civics? I need a VERY specific and technical answer on this topic because my 2019 honda civic still has the engine temperature guage in it but in your video with the 2022 honda civic it doesn't a temperature guage. So back to the most important question again is: does my SPECIFIC year and model civic STILL have regular head gaskets or does all 2016 and newer civics have silicone sealer? Thank you

No one uses silicone sealer for head gaskets. No way would it work for the kind of temperatures and pressures involved.

Okay but if you watched scotty's recent youtube video he actually states that the 2022 honda civic does in fact use silicone sealer

@akroeker1 - Not on head gaskets. Think about it. Consider the characteristics of silicone sealers versus the kind of conditions that head gaskets face during engine operation.

@chucktobias He must have seen the most recent video where Scotty pointed out the '22 Honda's valve cover gasket was leaking because of a poor silicone seal

@hixster - Possibly, but I'm not sure how one would get from there to the idea that Honda is using silicone sealer for a head gasket, which of course is a totally different deal.

@chucktobias A while back someone wanted to replace a rear diff seal & quickly.. and I recommended RTV. Not that it wouldn't work but . "shaking head"...
